Morning routine

Hey y'all! Sorry it has been awhile, I have been super busy with school starting. Today I am going to share with you my morning routine! Now I am going to be completely honest, not every morning goes this smoothly! So let's get started!

7:00: Wake up!(tip: put your alarm clock across your room so you can't keep hitting snooze while your in bed! You actually have to get up to turn it off!)

7:10: Take a shower. I wash my hair every other day, so today I did not wash my hair.

7:25: Get dressed and finish getting ready. Every Sunday I plan out all my outfits for the week, so that eliminates trying to find what to wear!

7:45: Eat breakfast. Today I had peanut butter toast!

8:15: Realax. I usually finish any homework I have, blog, or watch TV.

8:55: Leave for the bus.

And that is my morning! How do yours usually go? Are the calm and relaxed or crazy and rushed. Let me know down in the comments below! Have a great week!

Liebster Award

First of all I want to give a huge thanks to Cat from The Byrd Book for nominating me for the Liebster Award! I am so honored to be nominated for this award and I can't wait to pass it on to other bloggers! So without further ado, lets get started! These are the following questions given to me by Cat, that I will be answering for you to get to know me better!

When did you start your blog?
I first started my blog back in January. I thought what a perfect way to start the year off with writing a blog.

Why did you start it and what inspired you to do so?
I started Braids and Buttercream as a way to express my creativity. I have always loved the idea of having my own business as teen, and I thought blogging was a perfect fit! I didn't really have one thing in particular that inspired me, just pretty much all Fashion and Lifestyle blogs inspired me!
What is the main theme of your blog?
I don't really have a main theme, but if I had to pick one I would probably go with lifestyle. I blog about pretty much anything that crawls into my mind!
What are some of your favorite blogs to read?
My favorite blogs to read are Southern Curls and Pearls, Navy Striped Peonies, and Look Brooke! I think each of these bloggers put so much effort in each post and I look forward to reading!
Which blog post are you most proud of?
I can't pick one in particular, but I think my favorites would have to be August Inspiration Board, Rise and Shine Room Inspiration, and Double Chocolate Chip Cookies.(the cookies are to die for!)
What are your hobbies?
I take dance, and that pretty much takes up all my free time. But I do enjoy photography, blogging, and does shopping count!
Are you still in school? If so what year?
Yes, I am in the 8th grade!
What's your favorite color?
I like any pastel colors and gold!
How would you describe your style?
My style could probably be described as southern prep, but I wouldn't really classify myself just to one style!
Where do you want to travel?
I would love to visit New York City! I think it would be so cool to go to Time Square when Good Morning America is being filmed, and of course for the shopping too!
How much do you love your readers?
I love my readers just as much as I love Lilly Pulitzer...and that's a lot!!!! I look forward to reading your comments and emails! Your comments make my day! Y'all are the best!
So that is all the answers I have for you today! For my nominees, I would like to nominate...

1. A Peachy Sonder
2. Sequins and Strawberries
3. Pursuit of Prep

~

Your questions will be:

How did you name your blog?

Where is your favorite place to shop?

What is one of your biggest pet peeves?

Do you have any animals? If so, what kind are the?

What do you like to do in your down time?

What is your favorite item in your wardrobe?

Are you an early bird or a night owl?

What is your favorite part of blogging?

What is your favorite movie?

Why did you start your blog?

What is your favorite brand of nail polish?

Thanks for nominating me Cat!

How to Save Money as a Teen

I am what you could say a save-a-holic! I love to save my money! I guess you could say its a lot better than the alternative, but when I have gift cards from my 10th birthday and I am 13 you could say I am a little crazy about saving! But I do know a lot of people my age that cannot save money at all, they will spend everything they have. So today I am going to share some tips to help you start saving more money!

Budget how much you want to spend for certain things. The way I do this is I have envelopes with different labels on them(ex. New phone, spending, offering, and etc.) and when ever I get money I add to my envelopes. I don't divide my money equally into the envelopes, I just add to each one based on how much money I need to spend for that category. For example with school coming up, I added more money to my shopping envelope so I would have more money for clothes.

Allow yourself to spend some money. This one might sound ridiculous because I am sharing tips about how to save money but I'm telling you to spend it, but it really is true. If you allow yourself just a tad bit of spending money in a week or month, it will allow you to get something you want or need but at the same time you still have some money saved up.

Put a certain percent of everything you earn into to a savings account you cannot touch. For example, I put 25% of everything I earn into a savings account in which I cannot touch. Your percent can be lower or higher than this, what ever works best in budget.

Don't go spend it right away. I know this is pretty obvious but don't earn $5 for taking out the trash and them go ask your mom to take you to the store!

Thats all I have for you today. Now, if you have any tips on making money, feel free to let me know! I still haven't figured that one out yet! So I hope y'all found these tips helpful! Leave down in the comments what y'all do to save your money! Thanks so much for reading, have a great week!

Daily Haircare Routine

I am kind of a snob when it comes to how I care for my hair. I always have to wash my hair on a certain day. I think its my OCD kicking in! So today I am going to share with how I take care of my hair.

So I use Bed Head Re-energize. I wash my hair every other day. I know people who can go 4-5 days, but I also know people that have to wash their hair everyday. I don't think there is a right or wrong way, I think you just have to find what works best for your hair.

When my hair is wet I will use It's a 10 leave in. This leave in acts a detangler and helps keep frizz under control. And it smells amazing too!

Also, my all time favorite brush is the wet brush. It is supposed to be used when your hair is wet, but I use it all the time! I would totally recommend it to anyone with not that thick hair.

Thank you so much for reading! Leave down in the comments below what your favorite hair care product is. Have a great week.

August Inspiration Board

Happy Monday! It is officially August, which means summer is coming to an end and school is coming up quickly. These last couple weeks of summer can be one of two things, completely boring and waiting for school to start or a blast if you have something super fun planned. So what I did was create an inspiration boards from some of my favorite pins on Pinterest to get us through the last couple weeks of summer and into the first couple weeks of school!
{via// via// via// via// via// via// via// via// via// via// via// via// via// via// via// via// via// via// via// via}

So I hope this board will come in handy through out the month of August! I also encourage you to make the most out of the rest of summer. Relax, hang out with friends, and maybe even finish a summer bucket list! Have a great week, check back on Wednesday for a new post!
